The Home Stretch

And so begins the last five or six weeks of another aurora season. This is maybe my favourite month with the aurora. It's the time of year when some favourite constellations begin the night just above the horizon fading very quickly under it. The moon, too, is lower on the horizon these days, giving way to a darker sky even at 95% illuminated.
