A Forced Smile

Underneath the LED street lamps of an intersection exactly 95 kilometres from Yellowknife, large snowflakes fell heavily and slowly. Almost like those slow motion dog running videos from that one friend on Instagram who just doesn't understand one person can only, with remote interest, watch a dog run in slow motion for so long. But the feeling of being in a snow globe just a few hundred kilometres south of the arctic circle had to put at least a little smile on your face, even if it almost felt certain earlier in the night we would be driving back home under clear skies, and not a snow storm.
