Fogstration

Following Aquila hurling lightning bolts at us two nights ago, keeping with Greek and Roman mythology, there may as well have been a god of fog or dew points that Yellowknife had upset yesterday too.

The beginning of the night had all the feelings of embarking on a wild goose chase. The slightest breaks in thick blankets of fog came and went within seconds. As we got further out from town, the breaks in the fog did increase, however so did the space between driveways off the highway for us to pull into. And then, 85km from Yellowknife, it was perfect. For ten minutes. Just long enough to set up a few tripods and begin some light stargazing to the background of lady aurora offering a tease. So, we backtracked east, and within 30 kilometres, clear skies were everywhere - fogstration free.
